It was a RADIO show
This wasn't on television yet, just radio. Why should Groucho get all dressed up when only the audience in the studio would see him? Why should they bother with a duck?

Almost no visuals added...
...not even a duck when the secret word is said. I almost missed it, except for that orchestra stinger. And Groucho, would it have killed you to wear a nice suit and a bow tie?
